What to do if teeth are naturally not white enough?

Our clinic offers you the advanced German technology for gentle whitening, Fläsh, from WHITEsmile.

Fläsh

Its main active ingredient is hydrogen peroxide. The whitening gel contains green pigments of active chlorophyll, which allow for controlled color changes under the light.

Indications

Whitening is recommended for patients with healthy teeth and gums who want to improve their enamel color and make their smile brighter and fresher.

  • Yellowish or grayish tint to enamel
    This procedure allows you to lighten the natural color of your teeth if they seem insufficiently white, while preserving the enamel structure.
  • Age-related tooth darkening
    Over time, enamel loses its brightness, and dentin darkens. Whitening helps restore teeth to a brighter, more beautiful appearance.
  • Pigmentation from food coloring and tobacco
    Stains from coffee, tea, wine, berries, and smoking often cannot be completely removed with regular professional cleaning. Whitening effectively eliminates such discolorations.
  • Mild forms of fluorosis or drug-induced pigmentation
    As part of a comprehensive aesthetic treatment, whitening can improve the overall color of teeth and create a more uniform shade. The suitability of this procedure is assessed individually during a consultation.

Contraindications

In some situations, it's recommended to temporarily postpone whitening or perform it after preliminary preparation. This approach allows for predictable results and avoids unwanted sensations.

  • Inflammatory processes in the oral cavity
    In cases of gingivitis, stomatitis, or other active inflammation, the procedure is postponed. Treatment and stabilization of the gums and mucous membranes are performed first.
  • Severe tooth sensitivity
    If you have an increased sensitivity to cold, hot, or sweets, whitening may increase discomfort. In such cases, a course of remineralizing therapy is first performed, after which the procedure is reconsidered.

Stages of Fläsh in-office whitening

In-office whitening is performed according to a clear and safe protocol that allows for significant results and maintains healthy enamel and gums.

  1. Diagnostics and Preparation
    Before the procedure, the doctor examines the teeth, determines the initial shade using the VITA scale, and takes photographs. Professional hygiene is a mandatory step: it removes plaque and tartar to ensure the bleaching gel works evenly across the entire crown.
  2. Gum protection and gel application
    The gums and soft tissues are sealed with a protective compound. A whitening gel (based on 32% hydrogen peroxide) is applied to the teeth, which is activated by a special LED lamp.
  3. The main stage of whitening
    The procedure consists of several 20-minute cycles. After each cycle, the doctor evaluates the result and, if necessary, reapplies the gel, gradually lightening the enamel to the desired shade.
  4. Completion of the procedure and enamel strengthening
    After bleaching, the gel is removed, and a remineralizing compound containing fluoride and antisensitivity components is applied to the teeth. The doctor records the final result and explains in detail how to maintain the whitening effect.

In-office bleaching is performed in the clinic by the attending physician using a gel (based on 32% hydrogen peroxide with green pigments of active chlorophyll) and a special LED lamp that activates the bleaching gel.

After whitening, a strengthening gel is used, which makes the procedure more comfortable.

A special formula with potassium nitrate and sodium fluoride strengthens teeth and helps prevent hypersensitivity.

Home Whitening

The clinic will make custom-made mouth guards for you and provide recommendations for whitening procedures.

The at-home whitening system is gentler than the in-office version due to the lower concentration of carbamide peroxide.

This method can increase the whiteness of teeth by 1 to 4 shades. We also recommend this system for maintaining the new smile tone after in-office whitening to ensure longer-lasting results.

Post-Whitening Recommendations

After the procedure, it is necessary to try to maintain a "white diet."

Restricted:

  • Berries (strictly);
  • Coffee;
  • Wine;
  • Juices;
  • tea;
  • Lemonades;
  • Some vegetables (beets, carrots);
  • Sauces

After enamel whitening, it is also recommended to maintain the results with good dental hygiene. To do this, switch to a toothpaste with low levels of harsh abrasives. This toothpaste should contain fluoride to maintain dental health and prevent the development of hypersensitivity.
